Global Entrepreneurship Week has begun and the KC Startup Weekend is just around the corner. I’m ready to see the turnout of local entrepreneurs and to bask in the excitement of this grassroots movement.
Sprint is a strong supporter of Global Entrepreneurship Week in Kansas City and the KC Startup Weekend and we’ll be actively engaged in the week’s festivities. My Product Development team and I just wrapped up the 12th annual Sprint Open Solutions Conference and hack event at the end of October in San Jose. Now we’ll be in our hometown, getting into the trenches with area startups, developers and entrepreneurs.
Look for us at GEW activities throughout the week – from 1 Million Cups to our own Reverse Pitch Day on the Sprint campus to the KC Startup Weekend. I’ll be serving as a judge on the weekend, and I know that some people from my team plan to be there.
I’d like you to consider attending our “Reverse Pitch Day” on Nov. 14 on the Sprint Campus. Sprint, along with DST, H&R Block, Hallmark, Garmin and Cerner will be turning the tables slightly. Instead of startups pitching us, we’ll present to the startups, developers and entrepreneurs in attendance, educating GEW attendees about the insights, resources and tools our companies offer.
Sprint is proud to support GEW in Kansas City, and we’re eager to get more deeply involved in the KC entrepreneurial community. As Kansas City’s largest technology company and an innovation leader in the wireless industry, we want to be a local resource for business planning/tech know-how and facilities for developers.
I’ll see you at GEW,
Kevin McGinnis, Vice President, Product Platforms, Sprint
